What is Ethyl Acetate?

Ethyl acetate, also known as ethyl ethanoate, is an organic compound with the chemical formula C4H8O2. It is the ester of ethanol and acetic acid. This means that it is formed by the reaction of ethanol (an alcohol) with acetic acid (an acid). The IUPAC name is ethyl ethanoate.
