Potassium nitrate is a chemical compound with the chemical formula KNO3. It is an ionic salt of potassium ions K+ and nitrate ions NO3 and is, therefore, an alkali metal nitrate.

The substance is used in the following products: fertilisers, cosmetics and personal care products, anti-freeze products and washing & cleaning products.

High-quality potassium nitrate for use in a wide variety of applications. Goods come in high quality sealed container buckets which are directly distributed from our storage location in The Netherlands.

Potassium Nitrate (KNO3) is a white to dirty grey crystalline solid which is soluble in water. The substance is non-combustible but accelerates the burning of combustible materials. If large quantities are involved in a fire or when the combustible material is finely divided, an explosion may result. It may also explode under prolonged exposure to heat or fire. Toxic oxides of nitrogen are produced in fires.

Potassium nitrate is an inorganic nitrate salt of potassium and its main role is as a fertilizer or in the food industry. It is often used to counteract the colour loss in meat.

Potassium Nitrate is a precursor for explosives and falls under the law for ‘regulated precursors’. DutchChems is obligated to report suspicious transitions and therefore asks to fill in what the substance will be used for.
